One of our fellow researchers, Lori Godfrey, recently sent me this information:

HARRISON COUNTY, (WEST) VIRGINIA, LAND TAX BOOKS - 1802
Cutright, John
Casto, John
Cochran, Nathaniel
Casto, David

I think I also mentioned finding them in Randolph County, Va. and that Jonathan Casto sold property next to John Cutright to David Casto. (Not his brother) Which started the Upshur county line.

1880 Harrison County, WV Census

I haven't looked up Harrison County Marriages yet but Terry Howard was kind enough to send this one to me:

CASTO, David D. b. 29 Sep 1871 Upshur Co, WV d. 4 Jan 1948
Upshur Co, WV m. 3 Sep 1895 [Harrison Co, WV] Lorreta May LEWIS b. 13 Feb
1877 Johnstown, Harrison, WV d. 18 Mar 1954 Buckhannon, Upshur, WV (32,119)

Also, Pam Bailey passed this bit of information along to me:

Leaving Pennsylvania after the war,
John, Sr. followed his brother, David, Sr. to the restored Buchannon settlement. They were both taxed there in 1785. John, Sr. had a survey run for property that by the 1810 Census was located in Harrison County, Virginia (now Upshur Co., WV).

10.
John Jackson Casto, Jr. was born in 1787, and grew up in Upshur County.

11. In 1812, John, Sr. sold the Harrison County, property to his son David J. for $700. This deed was recorded during Harrison County August Court in 1812 and names Sarah as wife of John Casto, Sr. (Harrison Book 10, Page 271)
