The Research Room

INVENTORY:

The Shipment of Material arrived on June 29, 2007.  It contained:

4 boxes of hanging folders

1 box that looks like it’s all map related

20 full-size 3 ring binders

13 books or family manuscripts

A Master Plan called “Plan for Getting Dave Casto Collection into Concrete” - 15 pages of detailed notes on how Jim planned to use the material from Dave Casto

There is also one stack of papers that looks like a book ready to be printed except it has no index, title, etc.  It appears to be the Descendents of David Casto and Phoebe Gandy.

The are two file drawers worth of files that appear just to be the sources for something (179 files total) but I haven’t found the index or matching material for this yet.  A list of the files identified so far is here!

HELPFUL TIPS TO OTHER RESEARCHERS:

· Paper clips rust and leave marks over time

· Rubber bands dry out and stick to important papers

· Hanging files work great for sorting materials until the tabs/titles fall out!

· Glue will dry out and labels will fall off folders

· Identify old photos—found some great cemetery photos—just no idea from where!
