Another Family Tree—Stephens/Haynes Family Tree by anitag1946—has a family that matches what I have found so far:

Samuel McCoy, b. 2-10-1821 in Washington Co., PA, died Sept 16, 1899 in Steubenville, Jefferson Co., OH.

Children: Lucy Ophelia (1846-1923), John (18418-1935), Anna E. (1852-  ), Harriett (1855-  ), Abner F. (1857-1920), Frances (Fannie) (1860-  ), and James (1860-   )

Steubenville Herald Star,  Sep. 18, 1899:  “James McCoy, of Buffalo, NY, arrived the city yesterday called by death of his father, Samuel B. McCoy.”   This doesn’t make sense to me because James McCoy lived in WV, not NY at that time.  Perhaps it was  John or Abner and not James.

Research Notes on the KINGs:

I have had some information on the Kings for many years because my great-great-grandmother was Catherine King, daughter of Elijah King and Susanna Cruzan.  The informant for the death record of William King was a friend, S. Cruzan.  William and Elijah King were brothers, sons of  Francis King and Mary Richards.
