Clara (Davis) CASTO

Mrs. Clara (DAVIS) CASTO, wife of Rev. Martin CASTO, of Staats Mills, died at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning. Her death was due to internal cancer. Mrs. CASTO was 38 years of age. Her maiden name was Clara DAVIS. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. N. L. CASTO at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment in the family cemetery. (Mountaineer, 24 April 1914)

Clenn Clayton CASTO
POCA - Clenn Clayton CASTO, 71, of Poca, formerly of Ripley, died Jan. 26, 1997, at home after a short illness. He was a retired employee from Union Carbide, Institute, with 33- years' service, and a member and deacon of Church of God Mission, Bancroft. Surviving: wife, Nancy CASTO son, Kenneth of Hometown daughters, Linda Scantlin and Patricia Hudnall, both of Eleanor sisters, Nada Williams of Statts Mills, Reba Hayes of Massillon, Ohio brothers, John and Clifton, both of Statts Mills six grandchildren two great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Plainview Church, Belgrove, with Pastor John Taylor officiating. Burial will be in CASTO cemetery, Belgrove. Friends may call from 5 to 8 today at Gatens Funeral Home, Poca, and two hours prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, W.Va. 25064.(Charleston Gazette March 5, 1999)

Clida Ray CASTO
Casto, Clida Ray, 78, of Ripley died Feb. 18, 2000, at home after a long illness. He was retired from Crucible Steel, Midland, Pa., and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Burge-CASTO VFW Post 6450, Chester, and American Legion Post 121, Chester. He attended Fairplain Union Church. Surviving: wife, Frances L. Hager CASTO; son, Danny CASTO of Sterling Heights, Mich.; daughter, Debra Johnson of East Palestine, Ohio; stepson, Thomas O'Grady of Oxnard, Calif.; brothers, Dexter CASTO of Leon, Delbert CASTO of Ripley; sisters, Evaline Young of Ripley, Lily Smith of Barboursville; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at CASTO Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Aaron Melhorn officiating. Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 107, Ripley, and VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Clyde CASTO

Funeral services for Clyde Casto, 59, of Palatka, who died Wednesday (Mar. 14, 1973) in a Gainesville hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Davis Funeral Home, Palatka.The Rev. J.D. Kesterson and the Rev. Ira Ramey will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Palatka.  Casto was a veteran of World War II and had resided in Palatka eight years, moving here from West Virginia.  Survivors include the widow, Hazel, of Palatka; two sons, Eugene and Bobby of Palatka; daughter, Mrs. Wanda Stark of Bowdie, Md.; brothers, Othel of Rupert, W.Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Lyons of Palatka and Mrs. Rosellen Little of Akron, Ohio; eight grandchildren.  Johnson-Davis Funeral Home, Palatka, is in charge. Clyde CASTO
Clyde CASTO, 86, of Star Route, Red House, died May 16th, 1990, in Americare Putman Nursing Home, Hurricane, after a long illness. He was a retired construction worker and farmer. Surviving are daughters: Willidean Boggess, Betty Brown and Brenda King, all of Eleanor; Patsy Smith of Liberty; sons Carroll of Cheshire, Ohio; Rockford of Eleanor; James of Gallipolis, Ohio; Thomas of Guntersville, Alabama; William and Clyde, both of Red House; brother, Guy of Red House; 30 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Service was Saturday at Mount Zion Church, Pitman County. Burial was in the church cemetery. Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, was in charge of arrangements. Cora Belle (Balch) CASTO
Funeral services were held at Foster Chapel at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon for  Mrs. Cora Belle (BALCH) CASTO, 67 years old, who died at her home near  Rockcastle very suddenly Monday from what was said to have been a heart attack.  Rev. J. W. GARRISON had charge of the funeral services and burial was in the  church cemetery. Surviving are the husband, E. L. CASTO, a foster daughter, Mrs.  Cleo HICKMAN, of Charleston, three brothers, W. M. BALCH of Dunbar, Deb BALCH of  Leon, and Q. A. BALCH of Columbus, Ohio. (Herald, 25 April 1941)
