Opha COUNTS

Opha COUNTS, a son of Marion COUNTS, of Second Creek, came to Cal DUFF's Sunday morning, January 15, and told Mr. DUFF his little boy was very sick and the mother said for him to kill a quail and bring it over to make some broth for the sick child. Mr. DUFF picked up his double barrell shotgun, put in two shells, and as he breeched the gun one barrel fired, contents passing through a stool bottom chair, tearing the lower round out, then hitting the calf of COUNT's left leg. Dr. Fred CASTO was called at once and dressed the ugly wound. Mr. COUNTS was moved early Monday morning to his father's home where he died Wednesday at noon. The sad accident was quite a shock to both localities. Mr. COUNTS was 20 years old. (Friday, January 27, 1922).
