Dianna Victoria (FLOWERS) MILLER Dianna Victoria (FLOWERS) MILLER, daughter of Thomas and Emily FLOWERS, was born on Cow Run, Jackson County, April 27, 1876, and spent most of her life in this county. Departed this life October 27, 1942, aged 66 years, six months. She was united in marriage to Joseph A. MILLER on December 10, 1897. To this union ten children were born. Three died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Effie WARD, of Portland, Ohio, departed this life over a year ago. Those who survive, with their father, to mourn their loss are one son, Wallace A. MILLER, in army service; Mrs. Ruth HICKS, Ripley, Rt. 1; Mrs. May HIVELY, Walton, Roane County, WV.; Mrs. Pearl THOMPSON, Ravenswood, Rt. 2; Mrs. Virginia LANDIS, Ripley; Mrs. Addie MERRILL, Chester, WV. Twenty-five grandchildren living and two deceased. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Martha CASTO, Angerona, WV.; and a brother, Oscar FLOWERS, also of Angerona, WV. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Roy DAVIS, at the Martin Chapel U. B. church on Monday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. Interment in that cemetery by the J. B. Vail mortuary. (Jackson Herald, Fri., 6 Nov 1942)
Durwood J. MILLER Durwood J. Miller, 87, of Buckhannon died March 3, 1999, in St. Joseph Hospital, Clarksburg. He was a former locomotive engineer and an Army veteran of World War II and attended South Buckhannon Mission. Surviving: wife, Edna J. Farley Miller; daughter, Brenda CASTO of Buckhannon; sons, Ronald Miller of Fort Myers, Fla., Kerry W. Crosby of Buckhannon; sister, Lois Lankhiet of Huntington; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon, with the Rev. Sid Clevenger officiating. Burial will be in Heavner Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. (Charleston Gazette March 5, 1999)

Kathryn C. Minnard, 57, of Lima, Oh., died 12 midnight Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at Lima Convalescent Home. Born November 18, 1943 in Columbus, Oh., the daughter of Evalyn (Martindale) Casto Lyon of Bluffton, Oh. and the late Charles Owen Casto. Mrs. Minnard was a Teacher at Shawnee Elmwood School. Member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Member of the National Education Association, The Ohio Education Association and the Shawnee Education Association. Myrl Ester MITCHELL
GREENVIEW - Myrl Ester Mitchell, 92, of Greenview, Boone County, died Sept. 17, 1999, in Boone Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Danville, after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a Christian. Surviving: companion, David Sutphin of Powell Creek; daughter, Betty Jane CASTO of Point Pleasant; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Howard White officiating. Burial will be in Powell-Green Cemetery, Greenview. Alice (CASTO) MOORE
Given, WV- Word was received from Oklahoma last Thursday of the death of Mrs. Alice (CASTO) MOORE, which occurred on the 29th of January 1915. She was a daughter of the late Elmore CASTO, of Parchment. She leaves four boys, all of Maramac, Oklahoma, and three daughters, Mrs. Robert WALKER and Mrs. Stella ROCHETTE of California, and Mrs. Olivia PARSONS of Given, WV. She was converted in her youth and united with the U. B. Church at Parchment Chapel and had lived a consecrated Christian life since that time. (Mountaineer, 12 Feb 1915)
Callie (CASTO) O'BRIEN
Mrs. Fred H. O'BRIEN died of aenaemia in a hospital at Huntington Monday. The remains were brought to Ripley Tuesday where they were met by a number of Eastern Stars who marched in a body to the home. She was laid to rest in the Pine Hill Cemetery Wednesday. Mrs. O'BRIEN was born at Red Knob, Roane County, July 22, 1898, making her age slightly past the 25th year. She was the daughter of Dr. F. W. CASTO. Her father preceded her to the great beyond several years ago. Mrs. O'BRIEN was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and also a member of the secret orders of Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters. She leaves to mourn their loss a husband, mother, Mrs. Emma CASTO, two sisters, Mesdames J. K. KERWOOD and J. O. CASTO, and an infant son. Funeral services were held at the home of her pastor, A. C. RIFFE, assisted by Revs. RAINEY and H. K. RIFFE. The rest of the services were under the auspices of the Eastern Star. (Friday, August 10, 1923)
